Saddle up for the ride of a lifetime. This 8-day, 7-night cycling journey takes you from the surfy shores of Fulong all the way to the rice paddies of Chishang and hot springs of Ruisui—before finishing at the edge of the Pacific. With a support van, local guide, and stunning routes mapped out daily, all you need to do is ride and enjoy the views.
All logistics are covered—from your support van to daily transfers, accommodation, luggage handling, and even bubble tea breaks. The route includes 7 riding days, covering ~397km with varied elevation and stunning scenery from start to finish.

This tour is suitable for riders with moderate experience as it features shorter distances and few elevation gains. Don’t sweat it though, we have van support and some optional route extensions for those wishing to push it a bit harder each day!

Day 1: Taipei - Arrival Day (No Riding)
The guide will meet guests at Taoyuan International Airport and provide a private transfer to their downtown hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring temples, night markets or Taipei 101. Optional half‑day foodie or heritage city tour available depending on arrival times. An Orientation Briefing and Welcome Dinner will be provided.

Day 2: Fulong → Su’ao (57km | +210m)
Guests will meet a guide and support van at their hotel and transfer to Taiwan’s northeast beach town of Fulong. From here they’ll ride through the historic Caoling Railway Tunnel to the east coast of Taiwan. Ride south along the coast and through the surf community of Wai’ao before connecting several bike paths that skirt the east coast. Stop for a swim, grab some local treats before rolling into the Kilibay Pearl Tea Museum for a celebratory bubble tea. A quick transfer to our hot spring hotel in the sleeping fishing village of Su’ao. Dinner will be provided at the hotel.

Day 3: Su'ao → Taroko Gorge → Shoufeng (31km | +370m)
We’ll jump in our support van for a short transfer south from the hotel. Stops here will include the newly reopened Qingshui Cliffs and parts of the magnificent Taroko Gorge. Once we reach the south side of Hualien, guests will ride through local farmland and out to Liyu Lake for scenic cruise around the lake. Continuing south, guests will ride rural lanes into the fertile East Rift Valley; overnight in a charming homestay. A Hakka dinner will be enjoyed as a group only a short transfer away.

Day 4: Shoufeng → East Rift Valley → Yuli (80km | +840m)
After breakfast, ride right from your homestay B&B through a quilt‑like rice paddies. We’ve circled a few spots for those seeking culinary delights such as indigenous red‑rice delicacies and pineapple ice. We’ll be riding through Taiwan’s rice basket and truly one of the best cycling areas on Earth. You’ll cross the tectonic plate line before heading to a historic hot spring hotel where you can soak in therapeutic hot springs and enjoy a dinner inside your hotel.

Day 5: Yuli → East Coast → Taitung (61 km / +480m)
Guests can set off early and ride up and over the coastal mountains or take our support van for a shuttle over this climb. From the coast, guests will ride south along a ribbon of tarmac with emerald green mountains to the right and turquoise ocean views to the left. We’ll ride a short distance to the famous Sanxiantai Arch Bridge for a cool treat and a chance to walk around this stunning scenic area (the support van will be there for those wishing to change to walking shoes). This afternoon is all about coastal cruising with amazing ocean-side cafés and a chance to swim at a beautiful beach before cruising into laid‑back Taitung for the night.

Day 6: Taitung → East Rift Valley → Chishang (55 km | +660 m)
Heading out of Taitung City, you’ll quickly find yourself amidst rural landscapes as you enter the southern end of the famous East Rift Valley. With mountains on both sides, spin quiet backroads and under the shady Wuling Green Tunnel before an optional lunch at a local café. We’ve picked out a great spot to stop for local popsicles and cap off this fantastic day of riding with an easy cruise across Brown Boulevard’s postcard rice fields. Enjoy a sunset over the Central Mountains and a local Taiwanese dinner before resting for the evening.

Day 7: Chishang → East Rift Valley → Ruisui (56 km | +310 m)
Leaving the sleepy agricultural town of Chishang, pedal north with Jade Mountain on the horizon on a clear day. Visit the old Yuli Japanese Shrine ruins before a light dumpling lunch. Refreshed, jump back on the saddle and roll into Ruisui for another well‑earned soak in natural mineral pools. A final group dinner will be provided close to the hotel.

Day 8: Ruishui → Jiqi → Taipei (62 km | +970 m)
After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, ride east towards the east coast, following the jade‑green Xiuguluan River back to the Pacific. This curvy and low traffic route to the coast is a dream and ideal way to start your final day of riding. Once on the coast, head north for ocean-filled riding before conquering a punchy final 5 km climb. Your support van will be waiting for you at Baxi Rest Stop. Then van‑transfer to Taipei—legs tired, spirit soaring. Tour ends on arrival in the capital and drop off at guests’ hotel.
